Security policy

Any personal data you give to us is securely stored in a database held by Impression in the Netherlands, to which only our authorized staff and IT-agent have access. The server holding user information is protected against both unauthorized physical and electronic access. We use transmission and storage protocols, such as encryption, to prevent this information from being disclosed. Encryption means that when you type in your user information, it will be automatically converted into codes before being securely sent to us over the internet. 

SSL-certified secure connection

SSL is an abbreviation for Secure Sockets Layer, a worldwide used protocol to protect user information and to guarantee our identity as the owner of the website. From the moment that you login, you are in a protected environment. You can recognize a protected connection with our website in several ways:

  • Notice that the url in the browser starts with https:// before instead of the standard unprotected connection http://.

  • Depending on your browser, a lock symbol will appear in the upper or lower right corner of your browser. Click on the lock symbol and click on the button 'show certificate' to find information about our SSL-certificate.

  • When clicking on the GeoTrust True BusinessID logo below, or here, you will find information about our SSL-certificate.

Other security measures

To prevent the illegal use of information on our website, we suggest that you make note of the following:

  • When you register to create your account, your typed password remains invisible.

  • When you change your password (My account, Settings), the existing and new password remains encrypted.

  • We will never send your password to you by e-mail.

  • You will never be asked to give us your bank or credit (card) details. This includes during registration and payment of invoices.

  • During registration you will receive one confirmation e-mail to activate your account. At no other time will Impression send e-mails asking you to reply with your account or other personal information.

Protect yourself

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and other user information, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account.

  • When you connect to our website, only use the e-mail account and password that you have registered with us.

  • Keep your login and password secret.

  • Change your password periodically.

  • Never give out your personal or account information by e-mail or telephone, unless you initiated the contact.

  • Always end your secure session by clicking the ‘Sign out’ link at the top right side of the page and by closing your browser’s window.

  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or account, or of any other breach of security.
